Sorry, friends, but what I'm seeing here the last few days has made me come to the conclusion that I just need to take a break.
I think I'll just wait a week or two after the SOTU address, but the raging hyperbole in diaries like this one and this one (i mean really, Jed. Truly unimaginable stupidity would be starting another war against a well-equipped player like Pakistan or N. Korea -- this isn't hardly that, plus we don't. Even. Know. The. Details. Yet.)
So before my blood pressure gets too high, I'm going to wrap myself in my quilt, and take the last couple of steps in recovering from my cellulitis -- FYI, I was taken off the Coumadin last Thursday, and the dermatologist is letting me go a week without a Unni-boot to see if the leg is, as we're hoping, fully healed. I plan to make telephone calls and try to get my Greenhouse business off the ground -- a business that will help the poor in my neighborhood -- and I hope to work with local progressives to try to restore some competency and dignity to the local Democratic leadership here in Cleveland, which has suffered mightily under a corrupt head of the county party.
So this isn't GBCW, but it's definitely time to take a vacation and wait until the pie stops flying. Hopefully cooler heads will prevail, and a semblance of sanity, reality and normalcy will return to these pages.
