So, the Undies bomber was given Miranda and a lawyer and behold, America did not explode. Yes, he's singing like a bird, which does nothing to stop republicans pushing their talking points that say the exact opposite.
Naturally, Dems counter by noting that under Bush, Reid, the Shoe Bomber, was read Miranda as well, which did not seem to bother republicans at all. Heck, some republicans even celebrated the move as the triumph of the Nation of Laws that is America.
So, you might think republicans have no problems with Miranda and are just pretending they do because Democrats are now in charge. But let's look at this another way. Maybge the real question is this:
Did the republicans really think the Bush Administration was putting the nation at risk with the way they were handling the shoebomber and did absolutely nothing about it for the entire length of President Bush's term? Are are they really now saying they were putting party loyalty ahead of the safety of the United States? And are they really admitting having done this holding office in the Legislative Branch? While sitting members of Congress???
Is that their argument? If so, then pass the popcorn...
