Well the drug is Christianity and the hallucinations consist of flashbacks to the 1950's.
During his speech, Tancredo received a standing ovation when he said multiculturalism and immigration are "a threat to us."
"This is a huge issue we face," Tancredo said. "Some things we can deal with just in a political way with the votes we cast. Other things will require a commitment to passing on our culture, and we really do have one, you know? It is based on Judeo-Christian principles, whether people like it or not. That's who we are."

With Tancredo and Palin leading the charge into November we can tell this group is 'belief' based.
It's a dangerous brew of:
Religious fundamentalism
Fundamentalism .
A usually religious movement or point of view characterized by a return to fundamental principles, by rigid adherence to those principles, and often by intolerance of other views and opposition to secularism
.
Xenophobia
Xenophobia
An unreasonable fear or hatred of foreigners or strangers or of that which is foreign or strange.
Racism
Racism
A belief or doctrine that inherent differences among the various human races determine cultural or individual achievement, usually involving the idea that one's own race is superior and has the right to rule others.
Conspiracy theories.
Conspiracy theory
The belief that the government or a covert organization is responsible for an event that is unusual or unexplained, esp when any such involvement is denied.
There is no questioning of what is the reality just what should be in their limited view of the world.
This lot are so dense they could bend light around the gravity of their delusions.
The whole reason the right wing pundits went batshit crazy over the Kos poll is this is their base doing the revolting in all senses of the word.
This movement shows a serious problem in our educational levels and a failure to grasp the global reality.
It is an extremely dangerous concoction of half truths and downright crazy fiction.
On one hand they rally around the corrupt party of absolute corporate servitude that is modern conservatism, on the other they bite the hand that tries to protect them from these vultures.
I have never seen in my lifetime such a large group so mislead and convinced by their own delusions, actually you have to go back to the great social revolutions of the past to draw a parallel.
Its reminds me of the mix of mythology and nationalism that a certain party in Germany welded together. I hate to draw a parallel to a diseased populism that I hoped had long been extinguished by the catastrophic results it caused, and its eventual cauterisation by a world war. It seems if these base motives are harder to extinguish than that.
The Kos poll helped prove what I have felt for quite awhile that this is no tiny fringe section but a large vocal choir on the right. The howls fro the right wing pundits confirmed it completely
We have a large number of real lunatics in the US it is moving from an astroturf format as a means of annoying the Democratic Party to a truly populist movement that the republicans have no control over.
Am I Worried?
When people start believing in Glenn Beck lunacy and the suitability of Palin for the presidency...
You betcha.
There is no way on earth I am giving them the country they want back, I want to save the country we are meant to be, a democratic and free society.
