Not that any of us who've actually been paying attention would expect some type of consistency from the Half-Term Governor, but this is frankly mind-blowingly disingenuous. via HuffPo

She says that Limbaugh "Didn't call anyone retarded, it was merely satire"...

Satire?  Y'mean like when a late night comedian makes a joke about your not-exactly-abstinent (adult) daughter being in the proximity of a known playboy baseball player?

That kind of Satire?

First of all lets talk for a second about the original closed-door quote from Rahm Emmanuel, which was in response to the suggesting that various Conserva-Crats in the purple states should be challenged from the left.  He reportedly responded with "that's fucking retarded!"

This is important because he didn't call a Person retarded, he called an Idea retarded.  And I think there's a legitimate debate as to whether weakening these candidates with leftward primary challenges and making them more vulnerable in states that are already leaning fairly far to the right.

Then again, Rahm Emmanuel was originally against the 50 State Strategy that is what brought us the Democratic House and Senate (neo-)majorities.

Here's just a taste of what Limbaugh said in response.

"Our political correct society is acting like some giant insult’s taken place by calling a bunch of people who are retards, retards," said Limbaugh. What part of "a bunch of people who are retards" is difficult to understand?

Now there's going to be a Retard Summit at the White House, like that Beer Summit with that Cambridge professor and that Cop.

To this Palin who original said...

I would ask the president to show decency in this process by eliminating one member of that inner circle, Mr. Rahm Emanuel, and not allow Rahm’s continued indecent tactics to cloud efforts. Yes, Rahm is known for his caustic, crude references about those with whom he disagrees, but his recent tirade against participants in a strategy session was such a strong slap in many American faces that our president is doing himself a disservice by seeming to condone Rahm’s recent sick and offensive tactic.

The Obama Administration’s Chief of Staff scolded participants, calling them, "F---ing retarded," according to several participants, as reported in the Wall Street Journal.

Just as we’d be appalled if any public figure of Rahm’s stature ever used the "N-word" or other such inappropriate language, Rahm’s slur on all God’s children with cognitive and developmental disabilities — and the people who love them — is unacceptable, and it’s heartbreaking.

Get it. We should appalled if ANY public figure used such language to insult people.  Ok, but now she says something different.

But the former governor went to great and sometimes awkward lengths to insist that when conservative talk show host Rush Limbaugh used the same exact term to describe the same exact group, it was simply in the role of political humorist.

"They are kooks, so I agree with Rush Limbaugh," she said, when read a quote of Limbaugh calling liberal groups "retards." "Rush Limbaugh was using satire ... . I didn’t hear Rush Limbaugh calling a group of people whom he did not agree with ‘f-ing retards,’ and we did know that Rahm Emanuel, as has been reported, did say that. There is a big difference there."

Sarah doesn't like "name-callin'" except when it's about a bunch of "Kooks" or a "Law Professor In-Chief" whose also a "Charismatic Guy with a Teleprompter".  Yeah, thanks for that Mrs. Hand Notes, at least Barack has more class than to use a Sharpie.

Problem is calling a bunch of people he didn't agree with "Retards" is exactly what Limbaugh did, not what Emmanuel did - Rahm called an IDEA - an IDEA Retarded, not a bunch of KOOKS Retarded like Limbaugh AND YOU did.

But not deterred with the pile of FAIL Palin charged straight ahead with continuing to ring the Bill Ayers Bell.

Just to point out something for the record, Bill Ayers was never even connected directly with any bombing that injured anyone.  The only confirmed weather underground bombing casualties where members of the Weather Underground themselves in an accidental detonation. Bill Ayers was never charged or prosecuted for any crime let alone Terrorism.

Why not?

I'll tell you why not, it was because of an FBI and Police program that failed to follow the law and the constitution by fabricating false evidence and tampering with witness.  They're actions POISONED the Case long before Ayers eventually surrendered after fleeing to Canada.

That program was COINTELPRO, J. Edgar Hoovers program of dirty tricks which at one point attempted to blackmail Dr. Martin Luther King Jr into Suicide and eventually led to the Church Commission and the creation of the FISA law.

Apparently Sarah forgot to include these details in her crib notes.

It should be both Slander and Libel to say or print "Bill Ayers: Domestic Terrorist" because at best he was a "Alleged Suspect" who was freed due to lack of legal evidence almost 40 years ago, and since then he's been an unassuming college professor that anyone should be able to "Pal around with".  The REAL terrorist back then were working for the FBI.

But serial fact-manglers like Palin will never understand, and never learn the truth - since it's clearly got a Liberal Bias to it.

More Tagging tips:

A tag is a way to search for this diary. If someone is searching for "Barack Obama," is this a diary they'd be trying to find?

Use a person's full name, without any title. Senator Obama may become President Obama, and Michelle Obama might run for office.

If your diary covers an election or elected official, use election tags, which are generally the state abbreviation followed by the office. CA-01 is the first district House seat. CA-Sen covers both senate races. NY-GOV covers the New York governor's race.

Tags do not compound: that is, "education reform" is a completely different tag from "education". A tag like "reform" alone is probably not meaningful.

Consider if one or more of these tags fits your diary: Civil Rights, Community, Congress, Culture, Economy, Education, Elections, Energy, Environment, Health Care, International, Labor, Law, Media, Meta, National Security, Science, Transportation, or White House. If your diary is specific to a state, consider adding the state (California, Texas, etc). Keep in mind, though, that there are many wonderful and important diaries that don't fit in any of these tags. Don't worry if yours doesn't.
