Sara Pain is to the Tea Party Movement as Eva Peron was to Peronism
Like Evita Peron who saddled up to well known but passed-his-prime militarist Juan Peron, Sara Palin launched her career on the back of John McCain, a faded war hero. Evita Peron spoke for the "descamisados", real Argentines who felt disempowered by an oligarchy that survived because of a corrupt regime supported by an ineffective business ruling class. Sara Palin speaks for the Tea Party movement, the disenfranchised who feel excluded from the political process by a ruling class dominated corrupt politician who glorify an ineffective business class. Evita Peron played fast and loose with the national treasury. Sara Palin confiscated Alaska oil revenues for distribution to Alaska's citizens. Eva was the ultimate Fascist leader: supported by the Butchers union while embracing a militarist control over the levers of government. Sara is supported by the fundamentalist class, a Tea Party movement, while glorifying the military and abandoning constitutional rule. A lot has changed over the last 70 years, but one thing remains the same: the right wing and the military remain closely aligned. While we don't particularly like the greedy grubbiness of our corporate ruling class, it is far better than the collaboration between "populist" movements and the military. The threat of Sara Palin is that she ultimately will swerve toward military for power to advance "populist" sentiments. We should tread carefully here. In my view, Janie Dimon is far better than Sara Palin.
