Medical marijuana. It’s not just for glaucoma anymore.
Some concerned citizens in Alabama (of all places) are marching for my rights as a guy with Parkinson’s disease to twist a doob — for medicinal purposes, mind you.
On Saturday, members of Alabamians for Compassionate Care — a group that supports the use and legalization of medical marijuana — marched from Caldwell Park to the fountain at Five Points west.
They were there to support the Michael Phillips Compassionate Care Act. They expect the bill will be introduced to the state legislature sometime in March. It is modeled after the laws that are in effect in 14 other states and the District of Columbia, and it would allow doctors to prescribe marijuana to patients who suffer from seizures, have chronic pain or have been diagnosed with cancer.
Duuuuude! I mean, like... WOW! You’re watchin’ our BACKS, Cuz! And we don’t even KNOW each other! Your words TOUCH me, my brother! They TOUCH me!
Recent studies show that it slows the onset of Alzheimer’s disease, reduces the chances of lung cancer and chronic obstructive pulmonary disease and helps reduce the tremors and muscle rigidity associated with Parkinson’s disease.
Ummm... yeah. And it would also help guys like me with chronic (giggle) chest congestion caused by inhaling tiny bits of food and liquid every time I swallow. A good coughing fit would help clear that up right away, Bro! Might make it kinda harder to diagnose Parkinson’s disease dementia when it shows up, but by that point... ummmm... what was I talking about?
ROCK ON, MY RIGHTEOUS ALABAMA BROTHERS AND SISTERS!!! And we’ll meet later for snacks! I’ll bring the crumb cakes. You bring the Oreos.
