In a strikingly unexpected about face a galaxy of right wing superstars, including Rush Limbaugh, Glenn Beck, Sean Hannity and former Alaska Governor Sarah Palin, issued a joint press release today that has pundits across the political spectrum stratching their heads.

The statment declared that the group, formerly staunch global climate change deniers, was now "1000% sure that Global Warming* was not only real, but undoubtedly caused by industrial human activity!!!"

*known in some far left circles as Climate Change

Follow me over the fold for the startling details ...

Citing a front page story in Monday's New York Times the former group of Global Warming deniers unequivocally switched sides based on the new detailed datasets coming in from the 2010 Winter Olympic Games.

Said Limbaugh ...

The Maharushbo has seen the evidence.  It is clear as Al Gore's conscience and absolutely undeniable that global warming is not just real, but that it has arrived and will do great damage to the republic and individual liberty.  If you love your freedom, and you know that no one loves his freedom more than El Rushbo, you MUST join me in helping the IPCC, the UN and Preident Obama to slay this alien foe.

He continued by commenting on his former denier allies on the right ...

I refuse to let a bunch of fucking tea party retards tell me what I can and can't believe when it comes to the evidence.  What?  Are you saying it's politcally incorrect to call a bunch of fucking retards, retards?  They are fucking retards and I join the Sierra Club, the Nature Conservancy, the League of Conservation Voters and George Soros in calling them what they are ... GLOBAL WARMING DENIERS ARE FUCKING RETARDS!!!!!

Even Sarah Palin, the 2008 Republican Party Vice Presidential nominee and queen of the "Drill Baby Drill" crowd has had a change of heart ...

I read newspapers, all of them, well some of them anyway.  Actually, Todd reads the headlines to me.  When I heard the Canucks were dealing with mushy snow at the winter olympics I knew global warming just had to be true.  So sorry to Al Gore.  You were right Mr. Vice President.  Also, I totally agree with Rush, Fuck Joe the Plumber.  What does a plumber know about science or the middle east or electoral politics anyway?  One more thing, I'm going to write another book, this time with Tipper Gore, about raising families ... we should know, we're both moms right?  Also, fuck you Joe the Plumber one more time.

It should be noted that everyone didn't see the news of mushy snow as an indicator of imminent global warming or a political win for Barack Obama and the likes of Al Gore.

David Broder, the dean of Washington jounalists, was quoted as saying ...

The abnormally warm weather in Canada was a clear sign that Bush policies have worked, Dick Cheney was now the front runner for the Republican presidential nomination and it was a sure thing that Obama would lose the 2012 general election.

And that's the news from Lake Lostyourmind.  Where all the conservatives are angry, all the pundits are idiots, and all the media has its head up its ass.

More Tagging tips:

A tag is a way to search for this diary. If someone is searching for "Barack Obama," is this a diary they'd be trying to find?

Use a person's full name, without any title. Senator Obama may become President Obama, and Michelle Obama might run for office.

If your diary covers an election or elected official, use election tags, which are generally the state abbreviation followed by the office. CA-01 is the first district House seat. CA-Sen covers both senate races. NY-GOV covers the New York governor's race.

Tags do not compound: that is, "education reform" is a completely different tag from "education". A tag like "reform" alone is probably not meaningful.

Consider if one or more of these tags fits your diary: Civil Rights, Community, Congress, Culture, Economy, Education, Elections, Energy, Environment, Health Care, International, Labor, Law, Media, Meta, National Security, Science, Transportation, or White House. If your diary is specific to a state, consider adding the state (California, Texas, etc). Keep in mind, though, that there are many wonderful and important diaries that don't fit in any of these tags. Don't worry if yours doesn't.
