The reason I registered as a Democrat in 2004 was torture, Iraq and spying on citizens. I considered many in the Bush administration war criminals and still do today.
So what am I to do when the party I turned to appear to be guilty of aiding and abetting war criminals? Seem as well to be just as interested in spying on its citizens as the other guys? The latest decision by the Justice Dept to not hold the torture enablers to a minimum level of account for their decisions--to say that they simply exercised bad judgment--says to me that the entire reason I turned to the Democratic party was bogus. I apparently was exercising bad judgment.
Don't get me wrong, I'm not saying this administration is the same as the last administration, just that they are guilty of protecting war criminals as well.
When Bob Barr sounds more reasonable than anyone in our administration, then what am I to do?
I certainly will not turn back to the Repugnicons, but neither will I vote for those who don't have the balls to defend the rule of law. If I look at a ballot in November, it will not be to vote for anyone currently in office. If that sort of act allows the Repugnicons a better chance to gain more control over government then so be it. The same goes for 2012.
I apologize to everyone I know for voting for these criminals.
