I'm trying to craft a letter to our Senators for tomorrow, having started with Sen. Murray. I need a little help. I can't call as I have no access to long distance (cell got wet, no outside lines at work)
I have no doubt that for those involved its a numbers game tomorrow, and a cut and paste, bullet-pointed, generic letter would be the best way to go, it's just not my way.
Dear Senator,
I am urging you to strongly consider publicly pledging your support for reconciliation and supporting 23 of your colleagues in signing Senator Bennet's Public Option letter.
Over the past year, I have watched the HCR debate become a true quagmire of lies, disinformation, "no's" on one side of the aisle, and lack of clarity, concise delivery and cohesion on the other. Fortunately, as a concerned citizen, having gathered and digested as much information as possible of the make up of both bills (while tuning out cable news and pundits/lobbyists) and believe that the coming weeks may be the best, and last, chance for reforming our health care system.
On your re-election website it could not be stated more clearly: "Senator Murray has become a leading voice on meaningful reform.........That is why she continues to believe that a public option is the best way to lower costs long term, and ensure stable and portable coverage."
I ask that you please back your words with action.
You have our best interests at heart, that I do not doubt. But if nothing is done on our behalf as our elected representitive to the Senate from the great state of Washington, meaning you are not proactive in promoting real change to benefit all Americans and, especially Washingtonians, my disappointment in you will be genuine.
Regards,
Me
Gramatical errors aside, any suggestions?
Thanks.
