First, you had Jane Hamsher making deals with Grover Norquist. Then, there was Arianna Huffington using the Scarebama headlines and stories, and now you've got Glenn Greenwald taking his turn in the idiot rotation. Playing into Republican hands for a few clicks on a website. Sad.
Meanwhile, there is historic legislation afoot that can change the health care landscape forever, and what have the idiots done to support the legislation? Attack the President and Democratic lawmakers. All for a few clicks on a website, and all while they let people like Mitch McConnell and John Boehner escape aprobation.
(What is most intriguing is all the anti-corporationalists who suddenly see Greenwald as their champion, but then have to wade through a maze of the most invasive advertising popups available to the internet, all of which have found a profitable home on Salon.com.) It is time to end the idiot rotation, and do the sensible thing.
Thousands and thousands of Americans will be helped by the passage of health care reform. If it contains a public option, that is awesome, and I will call and email requesting that it be added. If not, it will be added someday because of the groundwork laid down this year. Moreover, because this legislation wlll soon become law and will be subsequently improved, millions and millions of Americans will lead better and longer lives.
Today is a big day. Let's get this thing done!
Please keep all of this in mind as you read what the next idiot has to offer. Also, please keep in mind that they are only helping Republicans and, in this instance, Big Insurance. Next time, it might be Big Tobacco.
UPDATE: Wisepiper wanted me to add this: "Forgive them, Father, for they know not what they do." He or she is right, you know! ; )
