I am a freelance writer and Progressive Democrat researching a book on term limits. I welcome your (constructive) comments!
Senator Jim Demint has proposed legislation to limit Congress to three terms and the Senate to two terms.

Many on the right are touting this idea now.
I don't agree with the Tea Bag crowd on many things, but we have Senators and Congressmen from both parties who have been in office for 30-50 YEARS!
Personally I like the idea of limiting ALL public officeholders to one 6 year term! If our elected officials never had to worry about getting reelected, they could focus on the work that needs to be done. Also large corporations would be less likely to spend huge money "buying" politicians when their "purchase" had a limited shelf life. (Without a reelection bid, the legislator who DID get huge campaign funding would have no reason to necessarily vote in the donor's interest)
Anyway, I'm doing the preliminary research on the subject now. Many polls say as many as 87 percent of the public favor some form of term limits. I'd appreciate your vote and any constructive thoughts or links that you may have to offer for or against term limits.
Also, if this post could be put on a recommended list, I'd like as many opinions as possible!
Thanks in advance!
