With all this advocacy going on today, I thought it would be good to just hear what people are experiencing.
Mine, below the fold
Called Senator Wyden's Washington DC office, and got through after a lot of tries.
They are getting a lot of calls, despite having a very long period of silence in front of actually speaking to anyone.
Memorable quotes: (rough quotes, obviously)
"We know nobody likes to be on hold..."
"The Moveon.org effort is dominating today"
When speaking, the staffer seemed frustrated and wanted to handle the call as quickly as possible. Seems to me, unless they get paid by the call, a call is just a call. I was disappointed in this, but did get to say what I wanted to say.
I gave them half the info, then asked about the calling effort. Usually I can get some stats, and such, but not today! Just "a lot of calls". Well good!
Gave them the other half, and CLICK that's it!
If you want to say something, I suggest you hold back your ZIP code.
What have you guys experienced? Post them up!
UPDATE: It's not too late to call! http://www.fixitandpassit.org
