A short diary, I know, but I was so pleased to hear this news I had to share. The Supreme Court has rejected a request by opponents of same sex marriage to stop the District of Columbia's gay marriage law, opening the doors for same sex couples to wed as early as Wednesday. Given the dismal news on this front lately, we have something be proud of today. Despite every attempt by loathsome bigots to take the rice out of our hands, gay folks in our nation's capital will be able to stand before their family and friends and celebrate their love.
Too bad, Catholic Charities. So sad, Walter E. Fauntroy. Move on, Focus on the Family. Today you lose so that love may win. Congratulations to all of our brothers and sisters who fought so hard to make this a reality. And congratulations to those who are about to be married. It's a wonderful feeling.
