Mappy goodness via cosmic debris:
2010 Primary Elections via Texas Tribune
http://www.texastribune.org/...
Fair Use?
Now, I voted Bill White today, but I almost votes Farouk just so Texas would be the first state to be ran by a Palestinian, which would be coupled with my vote for Michael Katz, a NYC Jew, for Lt. Gov. I mean, that would be a ticket of tickets, out of the Lone Star no less!
Then I sobered up and voted Ronnie Earle, as well. Though, as a Tejano, I really like Linda Chavez-Thompson, mi corazon.
But in tribute to one of the oddest campaigns for governor outside of Star Locke, the best song of the election cycle so far in Texas:
Farouk! Farouk! Farouk is on fire!
So results are trickling in at:

On the Republican side (Go Medina! Texas Liberal Plan Chaos in effect!):

More election fun and antics after the flip!
This is looking better:
U. S. Representative District 14 U. S. Representative District 14
Jeff Cherry DEM 1,697 27.28%
Winston Cochran DEM 1,911 30.72%
Robert Pruett DEM 2,611 41.98%
The beatings to improve morale have been suspended. I would like to have a word with you Aransas. What are you so on about with Cherry?
Meet Jeffy Cherry:
Yes, a freaking Tea Party Republican is winning my precious district because he was afraid to run against Ron Paul. If Jeff Cherry wins this primary I will personally move home and run this shit like I was LBJ in Blanco County.
That's not a threat, it's a promise. A pinche tejano promise, which is Serious Business.
Cochran also ran as a Republican in the last election, so WTF. And Pruett? Just a famous Texas lawman who is of the liberal cloth of Sam Rayburn with the country wit of Ann Richards. That's all.
Moving on.
This is over. Ciro gets the nod would be shocked to see him lose in the General. The Valle never went Republican, though with Ciro, it's hard to tell sometimes.
U. S. Representative District 23
Miguel Ortiz DEM 1,626 14.18%
Ciro D. Rodriguez - Incumbent DEM 9,838 85.81%
Seriously Ortiz, I like you, we all like you actually, but how many times are you gonna run, and lose, to Ciro? Yes, he is Club of Growth, which makes this even sadder.
Moving on.
Governor Farouk Shami DEM 30,044 12.18%
Bill White DEM 186,310 75.57%
Go White!
Shocking, made it was Ronnie Earle's name id on the internet verus Chavez-Thompson's name id in the grassroots. Lesson here for November:
Lieutenant Governor Lieutenant Governor
Linda Chavez-Thompson DEM 112,471 52.19%
Ronnie Earle DEM 77,563 35.99%
Interesting.
Commissioner of Agriculture Commissioner of Agriculture Commissioner of Agriculture
Richard "Kinky" Friedman DEM 99,586 45.55%
Hank Gilbert DEM 119,014 54.44%
Let's hope Hank sends Kinky home to smoke his cigars in peace for a long, long retirement. Still love you Kinky! But this is grown up time.
More to come as results come in!
Update 1: I'm calling for for Bill White as the Democratic Candidate for the Governorship of the greatest State on the face of the planet, Texas. Godspeed White, godspeed.
Update 2:
Republicans!
Looks like Ron Paul will win his Teabagger Challenge:
U. S. Representative District 14
Tim Graney REP 2,685 10.59%
Ron Paul - Incumbent REP 20,229 79.80%
This is sad:
Governor '
Kay Bailey Hutchison REP 176,910 30.83%
Debra Medina REP 94,331 16.44%
Rick Perry - Incumbent REP 302,487 52.72%
Good thing the Lady from La Marque kept her seat warm in Washington.
This was sadder:
Ballot Prop #4: Public Acknowledgement of God
YES REP 505,799 95.10%
NO REP 26,028 4.89%
Jesus, Texas Republicans. When you pull stunts like this it gets harder and harder to defend you knuckleheads to the rest of the world.
Update 3: It seems Medina is facing the same problem Ron Paul had on the national stage. A lot of hype, but not a lot of votes at the polls. Teabaggers just can't draw votes.
