You can check the Hartford Courant and other sites about the details of the March 1st debate between Merrick Alpert and Attorney General Richard Blumenthal, and I will post a detailed diary about the debate tomorrow(warning: it could be about 2000 words, I'm at almost 900 right now). I just wanted to briefly get this out there tonight because nobody on Daily Kos is mentioning it.
I think Merrick Alpert ought to get in touch with CREDO or the Whip Congress folks so that if he supports the Bennet letter(which if he's for Medicare For All, he should) he can be on the record for it and that might tip the scales for Dodd to sign it. Merrick also stated at the same debate that health care is a fundamental right and that incrementalism is a dirty word because that's not how real change comes about.
I agree with Merrick Alpert that single payer is what we should ultimately have and I believe the Public Option or a Medicare Buy-in is the best way to get us there. I am proud that he also is part of "the Democratic wing of the Democratic Party."
