You're a fiscal conservative, we get it. You don't like to spend money, I understand. I don't want to waste money either. But $10 Billion dollars so that people can keep the heat on, so that we keep the economy moving, isn't wasting money.
It's interesting, Sen. Bunning, that you protest so vehemently over spending money on the American people. But where was your objection over the money wasted in Iraq? You've voted for everything, every wasted dollar.
Remember back in 2003, when $12 Billion in cash was flown by military transport to Iraq, and $9 Billion was pissed away into the sand? Remember that? Where was your objection then?
Did you demand an investigation? Did you hold hearings? Did you use any of your power as a United States Senator to combat the waste and fraud of the Iraq War? Have you demanded accountability of any member of the Bush administration for costing this nation nearly a Trillion Dollars for a war based on lies?
Why is it Sen. Jim Bunning, that when it came time to care so passionantly about saving money that you had to miss your beloved basketball game, that it was over $10 Billion for the American Economy? That that was the line you would not cross, without a word to be heard about 100 times that much wasted on the war?
Money for Iraq, but not for America?
And when we demand an explanation, you give us the finger?
That's not fiscal conservatism, and it sure as hell isn't patriotism.
Of all the times to start caring about spending $10 Billion, this isn't it. Want $10 Billion to pay off the national debt, go get it back from Haliburton.
