Hari Sevugan tweeted a link to this post over at Hotline on Call. For some reason Hotline has taken down the post, but a Google Cache page still exists. It shows another GOP Power Point Presentation with the following bullet point:
A photo posted to a Facebook profile of the ND GOP appears to show a recent RNC campaign school presentation. Part of that presentation included laying out the state party's fundraising goals, one of which is to hit up the insurance industry for $50K.
Under the "Major Donors" category, "Insurance Industry" is listed next to a figure of $50K. The ND GOP also appears to be planning an event in the Hamptons in June with 120 attendees.
Here is the pic:
This wouldn't be good for the GOP if this got out too seeing as how they are trying to stop Health Care Reform with every weapon in their arsenal:
Taking so much money from the insurance industry could prove a further embarrassment for the GOP -- especially when the party is working to stop health care reform pushed by Dems, who have lambasted the GOP as in the pocket of insurance companies.
And it comes on the heels of some unwanted attention another presentation is getting which reveals the sleazy tactics the RNC is using to garner donations.
The strategy was detailed in a confidential party fundraising presentation, obtained by POLITICO, which also outlines how "ego-driven" wealthy donors can be tapped with offers of access and "tchochkes
Not to mention depicting the Obama Administration as the "Evil Empire", Nancy Pelosi as Cruella DeVille and Harry Reid as Scooby Doo.
The story can also be found at Democrats.org, but my question is, why was the story removed from Hotline? Did GOP pressure force them to remove it? Who knows, but this really should be added to the media attention of the overall hypocrisy of the GOP on HCR. Let's get this story out!
