It seems that Senator Durbin wants to stop the momentum for the public option, and doesn't want Senators to vote for it should it be brought up as an amendment to the reconciliation package.
Senator Durbin, here's a question for you when you pull stuff like this:
"ARE YOU WITH US OR WITH PRIVATE INSURANCE COMPANIES?"
Tell Senator Durbin that if he wants to be majority leader in the Senate, he'd better stop trying to kill the public option right now, and allow us to have an up or down vote on the public option amendment!

We have 41 Senators on the record as supporting the public option if it was to be brought up by reconciliation. We're so close right now, and we have nine more Senators to go!
YES, WE CAN! CLICK TO WHIP NINE MORE SENATORS FOR THE PUBLIC OPTION!
It's galling when a liberal Senator, like Dick Durbin who wants to follow in the tragic footsteps of Senator Reid, wants to stop the momentum for the public option. They're scared that we can do this, and they don't want to hold the vote for the public option via reconciliation. Why else scare off their insurance corporate donors?
I remember when President Obama stood up and said that a public option was the best way to hold private insurance companies accountable and keep them honest. Well, then, whenever a Senator like Dick Durbin wants to kill the public option by whipping liberal Senators against it, he's not on our side, and he should NOT be the Majority Leader of the Senate!
Just imagine the caving and the waffling he'll do just like Senator Reid. Do we want another Senator Reid in the Majority Leader position? No, we don't.

MAJOR UPDATE!!!
Bernie Sanders says he'll put forth an amendment for the public option!
The public option just might get its straight up-or-down vote after all.
Senator Bernie Sanders, in a brief interview in the Capitol just now, confirmed to me that he’s willing to commit to introducing an amendment that would add the public option to the Senate bill’s reconciliation fix.
This is important, because as far fetched as this seems, if this amendment is introduced, a vote on it would be very hard for the Senate Dem leadership to block. The only thing that could stop it from happening, according to Senate expert Robert Dove, is for the parliamentarian to rule that it’s not germane to the Senate bill somehow — something that seems unlikely ...
