Polls and the American people.
The thing that as pissed me off the most about the Republican opposition to the Health-care bill is their constant screaming of saying the American people oppose the bill in the polls. But where were all these losers when polls in 2006 and 2007 showed a majority of Americans were against the Iraq war surge?
Back then in most polls some sixty percent of Americans were against the war surge but yet Bush charged ahead with the surge anyway, republican critics of the health-care bill like John McCain and Mitch McConnell were the biggest cheer leaders of the surge regardless of what the polls said, McCain even wore it as a badge of honor during his campaign that he stood up to the American people's opposition to the war surge. McCain called it courage. So why isn't it courage now when the President is charging ahead for what's right for the country regardless of what the polls say? The hypocrise of this thugs in the republican party and their right wing talk show hounds know no bounds.
I could careless what the polls are saying at this point. This watered down health-care bill must pass, when the American people begin seeing some of the benefits in the bill for them their opposition thanks in large part to all the lies that have been thrown out there will cease. They will embrace parts of the bill that will help improve their lives and that of their children.
So this republican clowns can spare me the outrage of screaming but the American people oppose the bill. It won't and shouldn't change the fact that we're close to achieving something historic for the country.
