Neil Fraser, a software engineer for Google, got into a debate as to whether a lava lamp, which apparently are commonplace at Google's headquarters, would still work in a high gravity environment like Jupiter. I could have answered this question for him without going through the whole experiment. But what fun would that have been?
The article and more information about this experiment can be found at NASA Hack Space where Neil Fraser has his own page.
On his page, he explains some of the difficulty he had in building and testing the centrifuge. I am impressed. Building a homemade centrifuge in your living room is way cool. But...I am going to go out on a limb and say that this guy has very angry spouse or is not married. Based on my own personal experience, of course. (I would have had the angry spouse) But then again, maybe he has a way cool spouse too.
Once again, Canadians show us Americans how to have a little fun. Enjoy the video and your week! Cheers.
