And the sun rose in the East. This isn't news, just one for the record.
Remember Chip Saltsman? The former Tennessee Repubican chair withdrew from the RNC chairmanship race after his "parody Christmas CD" was played by Rush Limbaugh and caused even Republicans to squirm.
via TPM:
Chip Saltsman, distributor of those "Barack, The Magic Negro" CDs, is no longer on the market.
Lt. Governor Andre Bauer (R-SC) has hired him as his new political consultant.
Yes, the same "the poor are like stray animals" Andre Bauer.
A flavour of the Republican party response here:
None of the other Republican candidates had any comment to Bauer's hiring of Saltsman. In a brief phone interview with Can-Do Conservatives for America spokesman Brain Donegan, who gave their endorsement of Bauer last year, said he was "definitely a proud supporter of Lt. Gov. Andre Bauer" and that he "admired Chip Saltsman," who he felt was "underrated."
As for the CD incident, Donegan commented further in an email "Maybe that CD wasn't the best thing to do for Chip but if such a big deal was going to be made over that, why nothing about Katon Dawson (who finished 2nd in the voting to Michael Steele) and his membership in a whites-only club? I call shenanigans!"
Yeah, that's going to go down really well in a state with a 28.2% black population.
