If the report in this Rec List Diary proves accurate, tomorrow, Dennis Kucinich will annouce his support of the present HCR bill, with reservations.
Jump-Ball after the fold.
This would be a wise decision since the Single Payer or Public Option he seeks is clearly not in the cards at this point.
Much has been made here and by Kucinich that he is standing on principle to accomplish that end. If this is the case, this compromise will provide him the opportunity to prove his dedication to that goal by taking the lead to introduce amendments the day the bill is signed into law or soon adterward. As a supporter of those goals, I urge him to do so.
If, on the other hand, Kucinich drops the issue then doubters will have reason to question his commitment to Single Payer/Public Option and assert he was simply playing politics or being the "purist" they claim he is.
Well, Mr. Kucinich, what shall it be? Ball in your court, the cameras will be running.
