and contact (via in-game mail or /whisper) our Welcome Wagon, Papagenia - who can direct you in getting a guild invite. Yes, you have to be Horde. No, you don't have to be hardcore - casuals, PvPers, and people that just want to hang out on guild chat are all welcome.
More below the fold:
This week, we have the guild leader regarding our upcoming anniversary and a report from our new G Raid leader.
What a difference a year makes.
Our one year anniversary is fast approaching. And for an idea that started in as comment on this site, we have become a big deal.
We have close to 370 characters in the guild, with almost 170 accounts behind those characters. People are starting to notice us and join us from the server, too.
And every day, it seems, someone pays to transfer another character to our server so they can play with us.
We have gone from not having enough raiders to fill in a 10 person raid to our first regularly scheduled twenty fives.
We have a fully loaded Guild Vault with people to manage each tab. And those managers are generating enough capital from selling our overstocked items that the guild has enough gold to cover repairs for everyone.
We have class leaders who are actively mentoring.
We have a full staff of guild officers covering every aspect of running the guild. I swear all they want me to do is sit around and eat bonbons.
We have crafters who are able to keep everyone in the latest gear, fully gemmed and enchanted.
And we are planning one heck of a birthday bash for April 5. If you’ve been a member before but mostly play on a different server, come on back and help us celebrate. If you are curious about what it’s all about, give us a try.
Goals for the coming year.
—Full spectrum raiding from all guild 25 person progression in ICC to regular 10 person intro G raids in Naxx.
—Monthly all guild activities. April is the start of fishing season here, so we are going to have our first guild fishing contest in April. Fishing season start April 17.
—More Wreck List bloggers. We have a number of people blogging in different places, so a if you have a blog, a regular diary here, or something, please post a link. I’ll try to get them all listed and linked and updated regularly on the guild website.
—And finally, to get everyone in the guild signed up on the guild website:

And now in local news.
We’ve done two or three 25 person guild raids before, but always ran short. Last night we only had to fill three slots with pugs, but then two of them dropped and those slots were filled with Wreckies, too. And it would have been all 25 if a couple of people had logged on just a bit earlier. I am wondering if we want to delay our typical start time to 9:20 or even 9:30 to give people getting home from work or school on the west coast a chance.
Aislan has told us that her old and much loved guild has fallen on hard times in the horde impoverish land of their old server. And so a brave group are packing their bags and setting out on a great journey to the realm of Garrosh and their new home in the Wreck List. We can’t wait.
We have a full team of raid leaders. Prettydead is leading our G rated intro raids into Naxx10. Taymatt is working with Cael and will be running the R rated ICC10s, which will be moving night 2 to a new night during the week. Snuffy is in charge of the PG raids. These will be 25s and 10s depending on sign ups. Taymatt and I will also be working together to get another 25 all guild raid up and running on Saturday. Elsas has scheduled our first ToC25 for Tuesday.
And finally, one of our founders and the driving force behind Wreck List raiding has made the tough decision to move on and has applied to a hardcore hardmode raiding guild. Ed, thank you so much for all you have done for us and best of luck in killing Arthas. I am very excited for you and expect to read regular updates here.
Eddie, I'm sorry, personally, to see you go. There would not be a Wreck List without you.
But, man, you were made for hardcore raiding. Just know you're always welcome here. Always.
Well, on a lighter note, let's see what Pretty's plans are for our training raids:
Welcome to the Wreck List Academy for the Soon-To-Be Uber-L33t, with Head Mistress Prettydead.
New Raider Development To Begin Soon!
Hi gang!
Prettydead here. It's time to resume our work to grow our newer 80s into a fighting force of extraordinary magnitude, which will have our gratitude (bonus nerd points awarded to the first one to quote that reference). With that in mind, I plan to resume Naxx raids next week, taking over the time slot where we have done heritage raids in the recent past. So, Thursdays, 9 pm server (8 pm REAL time). I would consider moving this a little later for our Wreckies out there on the Left Coast, if needed.
Bear in mind this will be exactly my 2nd time leading a raid. My goal is to have one experienced tank and one experienced healer, and to pair a newer one of each of those player types with the experienced ones. The overarching goal of these Naxx runs is to teach. Pace will be slow, and both wipes and successes will be followed by critique. For now, for my sanity, we'll start with Naxx 10. As I get more experience and confidence, we can see about expanding that to Naxx 25. Last time we did the Arachnid Quarter and did rather well. I personally have zero confidence in my ability to survive the Safety Dance, so I don't plan to do the Plague Quarter yet. I will propose the Construct Quarter, followed by the Military Quarter. If we end up struggling too much on a given fight, I may try and pull in a class mentor to help us get over the hump. Hopefully we will have extra Wreckies around that can step in for a few minutes if that proves to be the case. I could even envision a rotating cast of mentors coming in and teaching a fight or a mechanic, then going on about their regular nightly mayhem.
Additionally, since It's about learning and avoiding overload for newer raiders, I plan to stick to a strict 2 hour limit on these raids. This probably means tackling a single quarter per raid, at least at the beginning.
To recap the goals:
- Grow new 80s that are interested in learning how to raid.
- Learn how to lead a raid (personal goal).
- Have fun! (hmmm...this should probably be higher on the list...)
- Profit!
A year already. And twenty-five runs. I wasn't sure when we started this that I'd get twenty-five people.
