I believe it was Sen John Barrasso (R-Wy) who said that opponents to the Health Care Law were frustrated because they felt that no one had listened to their concerns.
Excuse me?? No one listened to them? For the last 8 months, the nation has been held hostage by opponents to Health Care Reform.
Several times did they march on Washington, and each time the media fawned over them while ignoring larger progressive marches in Washington on the same days. [more itemized outrage after the jump]
They built up the notion of George Soros and his big media empire, while simultaneously filling the airwaves with propaganda and ignoring the story behind David Koch, a man who is 25% richer than George Soros.
They queued up to do the bidding of Dick Armey and his army of partisan pundits, while the rest of us were subjected to news programs that allowed these people to dominate the discussion. They turned public opinion so people who were in favor of all the law's provisions, were turned against the law itself.
They complained about the House bill. They complained about the Senate bill. Then they complained about the size of the bill and that no one could have read the bill. They complained about reconciliation and the possible use of the self-executing rule.
They gave new meaning to the word hyperbole, with accusations that this new law would usher in a new era of U.S. Marxism and lead to armageddon.
We were shocked at the disrespect they showed our Congressmen when they heckled and disrupted the Congressmen's town hall meetings, but then they outdid themselves when they spat upon a Congressman and shouted racial and homophobic invectives at others.
Their obstructionist leaders tried to pounce on the President during the GOP retreat, only to be shown the meaning of retreat, and then again they dominated the focus of the narrative with a historic summit with the President, televised by the so called liberal media who ran a virtual blackout on the Democratic speakers.
And now they have the gall to claim that no one listened to them?
