The headquarters of the Alaska Democratic Party were attacked by a vandal this weekend, literally within feet of the offices of both Rep. Don Young (R) and Gov. Sean Parnell (R). Surprisingly (yeah right), those offices were left untouched. And the chairwoman is wasting no time calling Sarah Palin out for her inappropriate rhetoric.
From the AP:
The former governor and vice presidential candidate - in recent postings on Facebook on the health care debate - has used firearm-related words such as "cross hairs," "reload," "bombing," "strong weapons" and "big guns." The words appeal to people who are mentally unstable, Higgins said.
"It's a very uncontrolled situation. She isn't leading them. She's just out in front of a mob," Higgins said
Let me reiterate that last line, because it's apt:
She isn't leading them. She's just out in front of a mob
Sarah is good at that. She has no interest in actually governing, but instead appears to be playing some sort of real-life RPG, attempting to level up as fast as possible. She won governorship on a plurality vote by not addressing the need to negotiate for the gas line (environmentalist or not, as long as we drill up there we should support the gas line, it's better to use it then to burn the gas off in the Arctic, as we do now since we are only equipped to handle the crude). She hid behind a shield of the states hatred for Murkowski and his damned jet to sneak in. As soon as she no longer needed the state as a platform she quit.
This is yet another example of Palin ignoring the long-term consequences of her actions, and it's tearing the country apart at the seams.
The Anchorage Daily News has more about what happened:
The window's metal frame was bent and police initially suspected someone hit it with a crowbar or baseball bat.
On Monday afternoon, Anchorage police Lt. Dave Parker, a former detective who now serves as a spokesman, said he found the weapon: an 8.25-pound rock. It fit in the dent on the frame, and was marked by a smudge of aluminum, Parker said.
"I photographed the sucker and seized it as evidence." The rock was too dusty to check for prints, he said.
