It would be really useful to publish the names of democrats (particularly house members) for whom our contributions would be the most useful.
I would like to financially support endangered Dems, if and only if, they have supported Democratic priniciples, not only on Health Care, but other issues including freedom of information, transparency, capital punishment, gun restrictions and other liberal/good governemnt priorities. Who do I consider good Dems? I don't know much about House Dems but a good liberal Dem that may be threatened is Russ Feingold. A good moderate Dem that would be threatened if she were up for re-election would be Claire McCaskill.
So I envision two axes measuring "Re-election chances" and "liberal positions". A hard core liberal with low re-election chances may not be worth the same contribution as a moderate liberal standing a better chance.
A similar approach could be taken for liberal Dems fighting Conservadems like Lincoln. For example would money to Sestak be as a good an investement as money to Halter?
So If you have the data, help us fight the good fight. Of course this sort of graph could dangerously send $$$ to very few individuals, but I think that the people here are educated enough to make the right decisions.
I think such a graph would be widely useful to the netroots. While everyone is focused on the numbers, we know that losing 3 conservadems may be better than losing a reliable liberal.
Anyone have better ideas on this?
