Well, our right wing nutjob counterparts are at it again, this time using good old fashioned Billboard advertisments in their continuing effort to sully our president. This group has created Billboards Against Obama, a "crowdsourced" effort between Atlanta area businesses and right wing activists alike.
According to TPM, which just posted the story about an hour ago, "people can contribute money, sponsor new billboards, and even contribute new billboard designs."
I'm only scared as to what these people could come up -- wouldn't surprise me one bit to see some type of low level racist rhetoric cause we saw it during the election.
This has led me to wonder if we should counter this in our own right, ensuring whatever these folks put out there is balanced by our own messaging in support of our president.
These billboards could go in strategic areas, such as swing districts, where a message confronting the illogical statements of these folks could have most effect.
My question is, before I'd put any effort into it, would any of you out there be willing to help? Is this something the "netroots" could do? I wanted to open up the discussion here and here from you all.
I think its time we fight them word for word, and action for action. The HCR victory proved that Dems can play the game too, and win.
Looking forward to hearing from the community.
