What do paint, ketchup, and shampoo all have in common? Like sinovial fluid, they are all examples of a non-Newtonial fluid - a fluid whose viscosity changes. If I had to choose one, and give up all the others, it would be no contest. Sinovial fluid all the way! Welcome to WHEE....

Full disclosure: I am not an expert and am not trying to play one on the intertubes.
I was pondering the other day, mentally listing things I am thankful for that I generally never think about, and sinovial fluid popped into my head. "Ahhh, that luscious lubricant," I thought, as I reflexively began to roll my shoulders. I'd been operating under the notion that one could increase the amount of sinovial fluid by moving the joints, which sounded good to me. Turns out, that's not true and wouldn't be a good thing if it were. Excessive synovial fluid is a sympton of injury and infammation. The right amount is great, though, and movement helps distribute it, also great.

So, three cheers for synovial fluid. What are you thankful for today?
