I want to wish everyone a happy Easter as we celebrate the resurrection of the Lord. Let us celebrate and renew our commitment to the things we value and hold dear to our hearts. We must realize that our faith demands that we do all that is in our power to heal the sick, feed the hungry, clothe the naked, and provide shelter for the homeless.
Everyone deserves quality health care, EVERYONE!!!! It is our moral obligation to fight for healthcare for all. Jesus healed the sick in miraculous fashion but as we fight the good fight for quality health care for all we must remind all of the things that Jesus did not do. He didn't ask for an Anthem/ blue cross-blue shield card. He never required a co-pay or deductible, and most important, he never denied someone based on a pre-existing condition. Let us never shy away from debating our conservative brothers and sisters on the morals and values of health care. I do my best to respect the opinions of all but I know in my heart and soul that we are right and they are wrong. Never, Never Never relent in standing up for this precious value. They can spit on our congressmen, vandalize their offices and threaten violence all they want but it won't stop us. Let me emphasize that it will never stop us because we know that we stand for what is right.
The economy has left so many of our brothers and sisters, unemployed and in financial straits. We will never forget them or neglect them. Whether it's unemployment insurance or needed relief for clothing, shelter or food. We progressive Christians will fight for them relentlessly. We have people like Alan Grayson on our side standing for righteousness and those less fortunate than us. May God bless him all the days of his life for his dedication as well as all my fellow progressives.
Regardless of the results of the 2010 election, we must hold to the fierce belief that when we passed health care legislation, it was the right thing. Gloom and doom is prophecised all over that we are going to lose the house and maybe the senate. This may or may not happen but remember that we can win back the house and the senate, but if we'd failed on health care, the opportunity to provide 30 million with health care would have been lost for another generation. God bless all.Easter
