What's the point of anything, anymore?
"Maverick" is a mantle McCain no longer claims; in fact, he now denies he ever was one. "I never considered myself a maverick," he told me.
I considered including video of McCain, you know, calling himself a maverick. But really, why even bother entertaining the notion that there's someone in America who doesn't know the truth?
I mean, this is literally painfully obvious. It hurts to contemplate how insulting this is!
F it! Why bother getting up for work? Why bother working hard? Why bother paying your taxes, parking in legal spaces, or paying for goods and services? Why bother with anything, when you can be a "leader" in America despite saying one thing for your entire political career, and then unsaying it just for the hell of it?
I never considered myself to have seven houses.
I never considered myself to be a POW.
I never considered myself as saying "my friends" a lot.
I never considered myself to be telling people they couldn't pick lettuce for a whole season.
I never considered myself to be singing, "Bomb Iran."
I never considered myself to be suspending my campaign.
I never considered myself to be appearing on Sunday talk shows 800 times after losing the election.
I never considered myself to be riding around on a giant bus I didn't consider myself to be calling the "Straight Talk Express."
I never considered myself to be making statements on the record, that Americans would refer to any time they were interested in seeing what I thought, or what I (never) considered my outlook on life and politics to be. Up is down! Black is white! War is peace! Trans fats are a salad!
Everybody go home! Quit your jobs! You never considered your boss to be paying you to do work, anyway, right?
What the f-ing F? I can only imagine that this kind of goddamn nonsense is what makes teabaggers tick. And this guy will doubtless be on your TV next Sunday telling you what to think.
Jesus! Why did I even get out of bed this morning?
Sorry. Carry on. I guess I never considered that having a major American political figure disavow his entire career in a single, throwaway line could be so depressing.
