Just a few weeks after a speaker at a Washington state "Tea Party" said she'd "like to hang" Senator Patty Murray, the FBI have announced the arrest of a man for leaving death threats on the Senator's voice mail.
The ever-excellent TPM has both stories.
Second one first.
On February 17 in Austin, Washington, at the "Take Back America Rally" hosted by the Lewis and Clark Tea Party "Patriots", a crowd of about 500 listen and laughed as a speaker from the podium said:
How many of you have watched the movie 'Lonesome Dove?' What happened to Jake when he ran with the wrong crowd? He got hung. And that's what I want to do with Patty Murray.
I'm afraid I have not been able to unearth the speaker's name, but there is a video clip of her statement, and the crowd signaling its approval, here.
And now today:
Charles Alan Wilson, a 64-year-old Washington man, has been charged with threatening a federal official for allegedly leaving making threatening phone calls to Sen. Patty Murray (D-WA) over her support for the health bill.
