Common wisdom dictates that the RNC Young Eagles' "Voyeur" debacle has horrified potential High Rollers, produced a mass exodus from RNC leadership positions, and generally been a terrible embarrassment and symbol of hypocrisy for the RNC, contrasting its public pronouncements of conservative values and financial responsibility with its "almost anything goes" private behavior.
Well, not all Republicans would agree. In fact, there's a newly minted one who claims that this this very incident has been the turning point for her, spurring her to abandon her lifelong Democratic Party membership for the wilder and more libidinous ranks of the "family values"(tm) Party.
That person is none other than Adult Film actress Stormy Daniels, who's been contemplating a run against Adult Entertainment connoisseur and sometime Senator David Vitter.
Ms. Daniels spoke about her new-found inspiration and admiration for the Republican party, and, in particular its positive contribution to the Adult Entertainment industry. In Ms Daniels' own words:
While this decision has not been an easy one, recent events regarding Republican National Committee fundraising at Voyeur, an L.A.-based lesbian bondage-themed nightclub, finally tipped the scales...." "For me, this spirit can be summed up in the RNC’s investment of donor funds at Voyeur. As someone who has worked extensively in both the club and film side of the adult entertainment industry, I know from experience that a mere $1,900 outlay at a club with the reputation of Voyeur is a clear indication of a frugal investment with a keen eye toward maximum return."
She added: "As is the case with so many of my fellow Louisianans, I have been a registered Democrat throughout my life. But now I cannot help but recognize that over time my libertarian values regarding both money and sex and the legal use of one for the other [are] now best espoused by the Republican Party.

We should all wish Ms. Daniels well should she elect to enter the upcoming primary against diaper fetishist David Vitter. Given the above quotes I can imagine some really good debates between the two of them, particularly her anticipated praise for Mr. Vitter's person support for the Industry.
Perhaps the RNC should take these words to heart and continue to invest in one of the few industries whose true entrepreneurial spirit has allowed it to survive and even thrive during the most devastating economic tsunami in 80 years....that and the diaper industry (there will always be politicians in need of diapers).
