As the Blog Workers Industrial Union does more service work for Progressive issues and Democratic candidates we get recognized.
Part of that recognition now includes a free, long term Salsa account from Wired For Change that we can use for training our members.
This is new for us so we don't have all that much to offer just yet, but it's a major direction for the group. Look below the fold for how you can get involved.
Here is the invitation that went out to the Blog Workers Industrial Union's 200+ members.

This is the Customer Relations Management (CRM) system that the Democratic Senate Campaign Committee provides to each Senate Campaign.
This is the system that was selected by the AFL-CIO for its 1,400 member organizations.
This is the system that was given to the Coffee Party. And there is a very good chance we'll be able to do some work with them.
You can learn a bit more about this system by looking at the Salsa Commons site.
http://www.salsacommons.org
There is excellent documentation there. There are forty five minute classes on various aspects of the system available each afternoon. I will provide you an account to use.
This is our support group for those learning and using Salsa. I guessed at who might like this and sent an invite to them.

If you'd like to be involved in this and I missed you just drop me a note ...
If this is the first you've noticed us joining the Facebook group for the Blog Workers Industrial Union is how you get started. Once we know a bit about you there are various Google Groups where people congregate to work on different issues, there are Twitter userids that are used to manage rapid reaction, and so forth. You'll get access to and support for the things that you need to help the campaigns and causes you choose.
The BWIU has done a bit for some Senate campaigns but we're finding that the insurgent House campaigns are where we really shine, bringing skills and resources that would generally only be available to a Senate sized operation.
We have a volunteer pool that helps campaigns, there is a small group of experienced campaign staff who help our people and each other, and underneath all of this there is a solid layer of technical support for anything from iPhone & Blackberry applications to web site hosting with Siteground.com.
One of the things the BWIU does is help members create economic opportunity for themselves. On the political front this has included the creation of Progressive PST, a social media consulting operation that helps Progressives navigate the twitterverse, and PeanutButterPAC, a transparent, microcontribution driven political action committee.
We suspect there will be a for profit operation coming out of these efforts, a Salsa Partner with an emphasis on Twitter, our skills with the Request Tracker workflow management system, and our ability to organize in new ways due to being a native effort of the Progressive blogosphere.
I (Stranded Wind) will be around for a while to field any questions you may have.
