How has nobody diaried this yet? Last night, Tina Fey hosted Saturday Night Live, and in a series of hilarious sketches, she of course put back on her Sarah Palin glasses to do a sketch about Palin getting her own entire NETWORK. And just look at the shows that are on it!
This is some Grade A mockery of Palin from Fey. She hasn't lost a step. :-)
Actually, last night's SNL was just full of win. If you missed it, you missed out. Good thing that in the 21st century, you can still see it online... below the fold.
As John Cole said about the Sarah Palin Network sketch:
If John McCain had any honor, dignity, and shame, after watching that video he would grab her and take her with him to Dick Cheney’s undisclosed nation and hope the entire world would forget about them and the fact that he foisted her onto the national platform.
Tina Fey also appeared back on "Weekend Update" to give her commentary on Bombshell McGee. She even threw in a Hitler reference in the original German!! So can we at least agree that getting Nazi tattoos has nothing the fuck whatsoever to do with feminism? (I ask because there's actually some comments that complain that Fey is "judging" McGee because of what's on her body, and that makes Fey a bad feminist???)
Earlier in the Update segment, Kristen Wiig had on a "Team Bullock" t-shirt in support of Sandra. Another bit on "Weekend Update" had the Devil commenting on all the Catholic Church sex abuse and coverup stuff going on, distancing himself in the most hilarious way from the scandal.
Just to add to the mockery, the show opened with a sketch mocking the Michele Bachmanns that think the U.S. Census is some huge invasion of privacy. The only worry I have is that someone dumber-than-your-average-teabagger will actually think those questions are real. :-\
There was also a sketch showing Fey as a teacher infatuated with one of her students (played by Justin Bieber) where they break out into song. Creepy and funny at the same time, but as some people noted, what does it say about our society when we would have had a VERY different reaction had the exact same sketch been done with Steve Carell as the teacher and Miley Cyrus as the underage student?
Oh, and while just a commercial parody, Tina Fey's Brownie Husband ad is just hilarious too. You'll see.
