If I responded honestly, the answer to what I am working on would be taxes, laundry (well, avoiding laundry, technically.....), putiing my kitchen back in order after Passover, and watching old Star Trek episodes (what my anti-histamine-addled brain was up to after dealing with taxes....). It was actually that last one (yeah for Youtube!) that gave me the idea for this week's WAYWO diary.
In a classic Star Trek episode, after finding tribbles in his chicken sandwich and coffee, Kirk realizes that the storage compartments holding valuable grain are also vulnerable to the cute little tribbles.....
I don't have tribbles, but I have the next worst thing for a knitter: two mischievous little felines. (I promise, I'm not turning this into a pootie diary.....) They will turn anything not tied down (and even some things that were well secured) into a cat toy!
Given this skill the two wee beasties have shown, I've had to get all my yarn put away -- no more pretty baskets of fiber on the coffee table for me :-(
So I went off to IKEA and got two sets of wire drawers:
The drawers have worked better than I thought they would: easy to find what I want, and the beasties have left the yarn alone, which I had wondered about.
Not everything fit (yes, I have a fair bit of yarn...), so the overload {as well as some roving for spinning and some fabric} is in tubs in a closet. A less satisfactory solution, as it's hard to get at anything very easily.
So, what are you working on? And how have you solved the supply storage problem.
WAYWO is a continuing series about what Kossacks are working on {mostly crafts but we're flexible and (at least in my case) inquisitive, so don't be shy about sharing}, usually posted around this time on Sundays. A Yahoo group includes a mailing listto announce when the diary is posted and a schedule of hosts.
