Deep thoughts from Michele Bachmann (LUNATIC-MN):
We’re, we’re, we’re hoping that President Obama’s policies don’t succeed, exactly as you said. And of course, David Axelrod unfortunately seems to be wanting to smear people who disagree with the president. We’ve seen that over and over at Tea Party events, at gatherings where people say, “look, I don’t like this idea of out of control spending and accumulating deficits that our kids have no possibility of paying back.” And to think that those of us, we who disagree with that very ill-thought out idea are being smeared, I think that’s really wrong.
Given that Michele Bachmann has called for an investigation to find out who in Congress is "anti-American," suggested that civil rights-era icon John Lewis (D-GA) is a liar, wondered if the Obama administration would use the census to round people up and put them in internment camps, claimed that swine flu outbreaks only happen under Democratic presidents, and was sure political re-education camps were just around the corner, we can certainly declare that she's an expert on smears.
But that's not the issue here. The issue is, a sitting U.S. Congresswoman is actively rooting for the President to fail because she disagrees with his policies ... his policies on jobs, health care, national defense. She's not looking for areas of agreement or offering ways to improve those policies, she just wants him to fail and damn the consequences to the country.
Sounds anti-American, doesn't it?
