I've been blogging about KBR's Communication Director Heather Browne for quite some time. Heather is the KBR "go to" person when you need a statement regarding any KBR news, good or bad.
The majority of her statements begin with "KBR has an unwavering commitment to (fill in the blank)".
Ms. Brown has recently garnered some bad press in the blogosphere after Jezebel.com published a post regarding the Jamie Leigh Jones rape case and the "Facts About Jamie Leigh Jones Litigation" that KBR published on their website.
This is an obvious attempt to attack to discredit and attack an employee who is claiming to have been drugged and raped with supporting injuries and physician statements.
Evidently many of Jezebel's readers were outraged at the obvious attack and emailed Heather Browne via her KBR email address which was prominently displayed on the document. Heather did not respond. KBR's VP of Security responded with...
.....that individual’s personal character should not be questioned or maligned, simply because he or she is doing their job.
Read the entire response HERE
My question to all this is....When does a job become personal? At what point are you personally responsible for the stuff you put your name on? Just how long can you hide behind the "I have to, it's my job!" excuse.
In this case Heather is publicly harassing and maligning an alleged KBR rape victim as part of her job. Is that OK?
