The Supreme Court has ruled that animal cruelty videos can not be censored as the are protected by first amendment rights under the Constitution.
YAY! No longer do I need to fear that my perverse attraction to watching these will be subjected to legal action!
Now I can post the following animal cruelty videos...
Follow below the fold for the good stuff...
Here is cruelty captured on video, coming from one of America's biggest animal celebrities...
The next video involves cat torture, dogs, and an evil corporate stooge... ...who doesn't like some good pigeon torture?
...last but not least is this gem - overflowing with assaults on all kinds of animal body parts including genitalia!!!
okay, </snark> ...
I have mixed feelings about this case. In general I favor unfettered first amendment rights. However the fact that the Court chose this legislation to focus on rather than all the more heinous restrictions on free speech contained in such laws as the Patriot Act or the DMCA is more than troubling. The subject of animal cruelty videos is really being used as yet another right-wing distraction technique away from the substantive issues associated with free speech.
Well, th-th-th-that's all, folks!
