I wonder how many people here have heard of Schrodinger's Cat? It's a thought experiment that highlights the quirkiness that quantum physics tends to exhibit. Follow me below the fold, a story may exist and it may not exist.......but you won't know until you check!
The question arose after watching this video;
I've really enjoyed Keith Olbermann"s readings of James Thurber. And as i watched the video my mind drifted a bit ..... to the Schrodinger's cat experiment. If these characters were trying to determine the reflectiveness of a cats versus humans eyes, what would they find if they wondered if Schrodinger's cat could see?
Personally, i don't think the cat could see. I think the cat could feel, taste, hear, and smell. But i wouldn't really know that until i opened up the box to see for myself.
I sent the question in the title to a friend of mine that's familiar with Schrodinger's cat. He texted back:
Not if the cat is dead.
Which made me chuckle a little. Now Wait! Not because the cat was dead. No, i laughed because it takes you back to the original experiment, is the cat dead or alive? Which leaves you in a perplexing conundrum. So, i have to ask, what do you all think?
