I'd promised myself......... no more Palin........really, I had......but this makes me so angry I could spit feathers. At least I could, if they weren't covered in oil.
The 'acknowledged world expert on energy' strikes again!
On bloody Facebook of course, couldn't do it anywhere questions could be asked.

Sarah Palin: Domestic Drilling: Why We Can Still Believe
As an Alaskan, I can speak from the heart about the tragedy of an oil spill. For as long as I live, I will never forget the day the Exxon-Valdez ran aground on Bligh Reef and millions of gallons of North Slope crude poured into the waters of our beautiful Prince William Sound. The spill was devastating to so many Alaskans who, like my own family, make their living on the water from our commercial fishing industry. "Heartbreaking" was the word my husband Todd, an Alaska Native and trained oil spill responder, used to describe the scene as we watched it unfold on land and water that we feel is sacred.
First the faux empathy.
This was the position I took as an oil and gas regulator and as Governor of Alaska when my administration ramped up oversight of the oil industry and created a petroleum-systems-integrity office to monitor our oil and gas infrastructure for potential environmental risks. I took a lot of heat for the stand I took "against the oil industry" (which is how political adversaries labeled my actions). But we took tough action because there was proof of some improper maintenance of oil infrastructure which I believed was unacceptable. We instituted new oversight and held British Petroleum (BP) financially accountable for poor maintenance practices. We also filed a Friend-of-the-Court brief against Exxon’s interests for its decades-old responsibility to compensate Alaskans affected by the Valdez spill, and I took other actions "against" the industry which ultimately helped hold it accountable.
Then the self aggrandisement.
All responsible energy development must be accompanied by strict oversight, but even with the strictest oversight in the world, accidents still happen. No human endeavor is ever without risk – whether it’s sending a man to the moon or extracting the necessary resources to fuel our civilization. I repeat the slogan "drill here, drill now" not out of naiveté or disregard for the tragic consequences of oil spills – my family and my state and I know firsthand those consequences. How could I still believe in drilling America’s domestic supply of energy after having seen the devastation of the Exxon-Valdez spill? I continue to believe in it because increased domestic oil production will make us a more secure, prosperous, and peaceful nation.
Finally, the pandering to the oil lobby. (my bolding)
The person who actually writes these missives really earned their money on this one.
The Real History of Palin and Exxon Valdez
First, a small snippet of information.....
http://earthfirst.com/...
Prior to this development, Exxon had avoided paying the damages because ever since Sarah Palin stepped in as governor of Alaska, she has failed to collect the money. The previous governor had presented Exxon with a demand to pay the extra $92 million in estimated damages due for ‘unanticipated environmental injuries’ from the spill. Since Palin was elected, she hasn’t pressed the issue, while Exxon has continued to reap record profits in Alaska.
Now to the truth of the story of Palin and the Exxon Valdex Saga.....
http://blogs.reuters.com/...
But Palin’s claims of victory for the plaintiffs and of playing a role in achieving that victory are highly distorted, said the chief attorney for the approximately 32,000 plaintiffs that sued Exxon over damages from the worst oil-tanker spill in U.S. waters.
"That is the most cockamamie bullshit," said Dave Oesting of Anchorage, lead plaintiff attorney in the private litigants’ civil case against Exxon and its successor, Exxon Mobil Corp. "She didn’t have a damn thing to do with it, and she didn’t know what it was about."
At the time of the Supreme Court ruling, even Palin described it as a bitter disappointment to Alaskans rather than a victory. In an interview with Reuters, she said the state will tighten its oversight of the oil industry in response. "Exxon will know that we’re very disappointed in this ruling," she said then.

We were as surprised as anyone when Sarah Palin actually denounced the really bad 2008 U.S. Supreme Court decision that slashed the Exxon Valdez oil spill verdict, saying 30,000 victims could only get one-tenth of the jury’s award. She said it was a "huge disappointment," that she didn’t think was "right" or "fair." Sure, Palin’s a civil justice hypocrite, but hey, we’re not proud. We’ll take it. Ah, but like so many who were once sucked in by the charms of Sarah Palin, guess we spoke too soon.
Not that we’ve actually read it or anything, but in her uber-popular new book "Going Rogue," Palin now apparently says the "U.S. Supreme Court ruled in favor of the people," even calling it a "victory" for Alaskans. Not only that, she claims to have played a pivotal role in achieving that "victory."
When will this woman's lies be exposed by the MSM?
For your amusement I give you some of the comments from her fansite in response to the Facebook Post..........
Notice how she's using almost every issue now to talk up her own record. Smacks of getting a resume ready to maybe, oh, I don't know, "apply for a job"?
And also, just perhaps, to highlight her VASTLY higher amount of experience than the current part-time occupant of the oval office?
She certainly got WAY more done in her first year as GOVERNOR than he has as Pres ...
I knew she would still be shouting "drill here, drill now"...yippee. She is sooo right to get this said so soon after the "accident". Don't let the "knee-jerk" reaction of this adminstration take hold.
Accident pffft....the synical side of me says "accident...yea right".
The timing of this is just too good to be true for Obama and the "tree huggers" of the world.
It'll be real interesting to see how this plays out. I have a feeling that we'll never know what really happened on that rig.
Obama is a liar, I don't think we'll ever know the truth.
Excellent Facebook!
How on earth will Obama ever be able to sound and look Presidential when this is Palin's bread and butter?!
I love how she told him how to do his job, while making it clear that while the Obama Administration is backtracking on domestic drilling once again, she is still for it.
Nothing like drawing the line in the sand once again regarding policy positions.
There are many, many more. I have to stop now or I'll go demented myself.

Review of state documents reveals further evidence that Palin’s new unit has not been able to fulfill the tasks or deal with the problems that Palin outlined in the passage above. According to the executive order establishing the PSIO in April 2007, the new agency’s first major assignments were to conduct a gap analysis to identify redundancies and holes in the government monitoring process, and to "evaluate industry oversight of . . . facilities, equipment, infrastructure, and activities." When Palin left office two years later, the gap analysis had yet to be completed and there was no sign of a PSIO evaluation of industry management oversight programs.
