Today is the Money Bomb Day For Ky-05 progressive candidate Jim Holbert. I was hoping to get a little bit of help trying to take Hal Roger's seat this year. We were hoping to reach $1000 today, but it looks like we may fall short of this goal. Any donations, big or small, would be greatly appreciated. We have a larger volunteer pool than we do a campaign funds pool.
You Can Contribute to Jim, anything would be appreciated, through Actblue Here.
You can give him a progressive boost by "Fanning" him on your facebook Here.
First, little bit about Jim...
Jim is an Emergency Medical Service helicopter pilot in London, and his work regularly takes him throughout the 5th District and other regions of Kentucky. In his leisure time, Jim enjoys hiking and canoeing in the Daniel Boone National Forest, Bible teaching, and reading about American history and government.
Jim earned a Bachelor's Degree in 1975 and was certified as a secondary school teacher in science before entering military service. He spent a total of 21 years in the Army, Army National Guard, and Coast Guard, and worked at several flying jobs before choosing to settle in Kentucky.
Jim wants to be the House Representation in place of one of our nation's 22 Worst congressmen, Hal Rogers (R-KY-05)
Holbert, unlike Hal, has said he is a proponent of Single payer, ending the wars, against mountaintop removal & for voting machines with paper trails. Unlike Hal Rogers, he would have voted in favor of this health care bill, and stated so on his facebook page, that I linked you to. He responds to those in his district, directly, and you can see this. He is the kind we need more of in office. And with the falling GOP funds, so have Hal's funds diminished lately, an advantage that could put the GOP on defense in races like this.
Kentucky, by majority, is composed of Democrats, that is the figures from the 2006 Secretary of State's office.
...Republicans and "others" also increased their percentages of the Kentucky voter rolls as they now comprise 36.55% and 6.39% of Kentucky voters, respectively. That is an increase of .04% for both classifications since the Primary election. Democrats saw their percentage decrease from 57.14% of the voter rolls in May to 57.05% for the upcoming election....
However, Kentucky is an economically poor state, which is never good for our candidates running for these positions. We need your help to mobilize this campaign a little more. Please, anything you can do to help would be appreciated.
Don't let this district that has fallen through the cracks for decades continue to do so. Some progressive representation could help with the problems of Mountaintop removal, with diversification of our economy, education, and so much more. All issues that Holbert has plainly stated he wants to work on. You can see his page and issues section HERE.

Or if you can please volunteer if you are in the district, by contacting them HERE.
Help bring some attention to this race. Primaries are May 18th in Kentucky, we need a last minute push. Help us with this money bomb fundraiser if you can.
