Now that the Mainstream Media has lost interest in the Tea Party, does this sound the death knell for the racist, extreme right of the Republican Party? Does this mean the MSM has finally figured out who these Teabaggers are?
A quick short article about the Tea Party and its death due to the MSM’s inattention:
The MSM has just figured out that the Tea Party is just the far right, racist wing of the Republican Party. (Some of us have been saying this for months now, just to ring my own bell). Now that they have finally figured it out, the coverage of the Tea Party has all but disappeared, at least on the channel that I watch for my political news, (MSNBC). Not getting media coverage is the death of any movement. At least death in the sense that they will have no influence over what is happening in government.
The upside to the MSM wall-to-wall coverage is that the Tea Party has now been blended into the Republican Party, taking over the talking points and bringing out the worst in the Republican Party. This is a branding that could go on for many years to come. I think the Republican Party has entered the wilderness this year. This is a wilderness that is especially difficult to work your way out of it in a timely manner.
When the Republicans realize this, they are going to attempt to rid themselves of this label. Good luck I say. Go for it. It is harder to get rid of a bad label than it is to keep a good one.
So, unless the Tea Party does something completely outrageous, they will fade from the collective mind of America.
