Today is Nurse Kelley's birthday.
While this site is dedicated to political commentary and promoting liberal causes that benefit all of us, for me, and I hope, for many others, today is an important day in my life.
Several months ago I was introduced, through this site, to a compassionate, beautiful and always ready to help, member of the community who, to this day, I have never met.
Yet, I have come to regard her as a close friend. As someone I would be happy to share my personal secrets with. As someone I know I can trust.
For all of you who have come to know Nurse Kelley, please join me in wishing her everything she wishes for herself.
A poem for Nurse Kelley
Never Losing Her Way
As the world changes
Relationships morph into cyber-patterns
Where physical contact becomes less important
Than mental connection
Not unlike the cosmic/karmic
Dreams in the ancient wild stories
Of aboriginal songlines
As they roamed the Southern continent
With no maps or roads
Never losing
Their way
Such is Kelley
A friend
Never met in person
And yet, so dear
A friend
So important
To the lives
Of so many
That all who know her
Are better for being able to say to others
"I know Kelley, and I’m proud to say, she is my friend"
Happy Birthday Kelley
