Last week, I posted an article titled Should right wingers post diaries on Kos?.
Afterwards, I received an interesting proposition from Jay Tea, editor of WizBangBlog, a right-wing echo chamber I've spent a good deal of time criticizing.
He posted the following suggestion:
Once a week or so, you get your readers to pick a question or a topic, and I'll answer it. I'll even post it at Wizbang, with a link to the question.
You and your readers get to get a real, live "right-wing blogger" (although I prefer to think of myself as a "militant moderate") to take on their questions and demands and whatnot.
So, this post is me taking him up on that proposition. What I suggest everyone here do is the following:
Post your questions for Jay Tea of WizBang to answer in the comment area below and vote on them.
I'll whittle it down to the top five and you can pick the winner from there.
They spend alot of their time criticizing us. We spend alot of time criticizing them. After some very spirited back and forth between Jay Tea and the Kos folks in my previous post, it's clear we've got the chops to dismantle any right wing argument that comes our way.
But, then again, I have no idea what the top voted question might be. It could be contemplative, it could be bold, it may turn out to be a clever trap. I'll leave everyone here to decide on that.
Me? I just enjoy the back and forth. The debate. My biggest criticism of the left (of which I have been a proud member for my entire political-thinking life) is our weak-kneed approach in creating a unified front and challenging the other side. Granted, this particular kind of approach has mostly been the signature of our democratic congress and senate members, but it looks like they are slowly coming around (maybe).
It has always been up to us to frame the debate for our political figures and show them they don't have to be complete weaklings when addressing issues. The right never is. Why? Their constituents are aggressive. They value those who don't waver. I think we're the same way. Problem is, our leaders don't seem to "get" that. Lets be aggressive, too.
Nothing wrong with a heated discussion - and I'm certain, as last time, Jay Tea will be here to defend his opinion.
Lets see what happens. Post your questions and vote.
P.S. I would suggest that, if you want this "call for questions" to go beyond the average post time, you should up the Tip Jar here. Just to clarify, I don't benefit in any way, financially or otherwise, from posting on Kos. I'm an average, run-of-the-mill author just like you.
All I'm really hoping to do is have the time to get as many solid questions as possible.
Or, if not that, please post your questions quickly before the post disappears into "post oblivion."
