I think we all saw a touch of complacency coming after the incredible successes of the 2006 and 2008 elections. I also doubt most of us thought it would be this bad.
I'm going to make this short and to the point.
Policy diaries certainly have their place, but at the end of the day we can sit around talking about how mad we are at the Democrats until we are blue in the face and it's still going to be an election year. All the conversations about messaging, and discussions on strategy still don't beat feet on the ground and dollars in the bank.
If our President is going to be feeling enough pressure to alter his legislation, then I'd certainly prefer that pressure come from the left... and not the right. It may sound insane to some, but I strongly suggest every time someone feels the need to write a diary voicing their disagreement with the administration that they find a candidate that would put pressure on the administration from the left on said issue. Explain why it's important that we donate to/volunteer for said candidate, and give us information on how to. With such a strong anti-incumbency movement this election year, we're going to have to offset our losses with new pickups and I can promise you right now the DSCC and DCCC are going to worry about protecting incumbents. So it's going to be up to us if we want to keep the RNC off their backs, and offset any eventual losses.
Remember, money raised early is worth more than money raised late.
