Tomorrow is big primary day in Kentucky and Arkansas (and Pennsylvania, of course).
There is still time for you to help us nominate BETTER Democrats. For example, the Jack Conway campaign emails me that $5,000 would pay for a new round of phone banking into Jefferson County, Conway's base. Meanwhile, Halter is on a 48-hour nonstop campaign storm through Arkansas and could use resources for final last minute GOTV, not to mention the likely runoff.
We like to bitch about bad Democrats, and they sure have made a much of things the last year and a half. But THIS is how we turn things around. We get involved in primaries and choose better Democrats. And, as a bonus, those better Democrats (in all three states) also happen to run strongest in the general election.
Apparently, the DSCC and Obama are hellbent on nominating the worst general election candidates in those states. The establishment looks out for itself. For example, Blanche Lincoln's finance director is Jennifer Yocham Poersch. The executive director of the DSCC is ... J.B. Poersch. It's all one big mutual backscratch society, the rest of the country be damned.
So it's up to us and those brave challengers in Arkansas, Kentucky, and Pennsylvania to try and rescue those seats from probably demise (aka "GOP victories").
You can give to Jack Conway and Bill Halter via our ActBlue page. You can give to Joe Sestak here.
This isn't a time for sitting on the sidelines. If we want a better Democratic Party, a better government, a better nation, it's up to us to support those fighting the good fight.
