Call me cynical, distrustful or maybe just drunk tired from being up all night with a sick child. However, I don't buy into all this referendum on Washington stuff that the winners of last night's primary are spouting.
Barack Obama won the Presidency because he had a pulse on America. He knew what was wrong with people and knew what they wanted to hear. Having said that I hope no one thought that Pres. Obama was just some average guy who was like 'hey I am one of you and I am going to run for Pres. and win as the common man." Pres. Obama had a team of geniuses led by the biggest genius of all-HIM. His campaign was prepared, measured and scripted like a movie. The one thing is though, is that he truly is a compassionate, empathetic and sincere person who I believe knows what this country should look like. He also knows Washington and knows that he has to play by some of the rules established; and also get re-elected. In order to get re-elected he has to play some form of "the game."
I am just not convinced that the winners of last night's primary really do have a vision of where they want this country to be and what they want this country to look like. When I hear them speak I don't get inspired I get annoyed because it sounds to me like they went into a back room somewhere and said, "If Barack Obama can get elected by saying he is going to change Washington then so can I." I hear a bunch of copycats who don't have any original ideas on how to get elected so they are stealing Pres. Obama's ideas. So, before we get all hyped up by this referendum on Washington stuff let's remember this is not original, this is an election version of Avatar.
