Omar Khadr, American Torture and Why You Should Care
from the Canadian widow of a US Vietnam vet who survived torture
Hello Friends,
I will be doing a presentation on Omar Khadr this Friday, May 21, starting at 7pm, at St. Mark's Anglican Church, Kitsilano, 1805 Larch St, Vancouver, which is at the corner of 2nd and Larch in Vancouver.
I'm asking for $5 from everyone who attends, to pay for the site, and to help pay for my next plane ticket to DC to lobby the US government against torture and for accountability.
We, as Canadians, need to stand up and tell Prime Minister Harper that it is unacceptable that he has not just abandoned Omar, but that his government has, as the Supreme Court found, aided and abetted in Omar's torture.
Join me and find out why you should care, and what you can do to push the government and Prime Minister Harper.
With gratitude,
Standing for justice and accountability,
For Dan,
Heather
(Sorry for the short diary. I`ve spent all day dealing with bureaucracy.)
