We desperately need to launch a major mission to find intelligent life, since there appears to be precious little of it here on earth.

I often think of our beautiful earth as a large and well designed aquarium, however we have decided that blocking the filters appears to be a good idea.

We should definitely stop throwing junk in the filter.

But, but the earth is huge!

Compared to what?

Or, just hope God is handy at filter cleaning?

The responsibilities are global

1] They start at home at an individual level

2] They continue at work, where we should all persuade the companies we work for to be responsible.

3] The governments we elect should be held accountable.

Why am I so pissed off?

The signs of our lack of respect for the wondrous gift we have in our beautiful blue planet are all around.

Every time I take the dogs for a walk I take a sack with me to collect what little I can, some regard me as just another crazy lady, some stop to talk, and a few actually help.

I cannot bear the thought of our magnificent Bay becoming a cesspool.

Golfe du Morbihan

There is not one spot where signs of our pollution are not visible, the plastic bag, a cup, a bottle ........ right on up to illegal dumping or as the British term it fly tipping.

Illegal dumping

When BP and other Global Corporations spectacularly fuck up our environment we throw up our hands in horror, yet every day we just walk on by the stupidity of our neighbors, and do nothing.

We allow this to happen every second of the day.

If you want to live in a shit hole, carry on.

Just remember every little bit helps, and its actually doesn't take that much effort.

If it is to big to move yourself, call someone, make a scene, and get it rectified.

More Tagging tips:

A tag is a way to search for this diary. If someone is searching for "Barack Obama," is this a diary they'd be trying to find?

Use a person's full name, without any title. Senator Obama may become President Obama, and Michelle Obama might run for office.

If your diary covers an election or elected official, use election tags, which are generally the state abbreviation followed by the office. CA-01 is the first district House seat. CA-Sen covers both senate races. NY-GOV covers the New York governor's race.

Tags do not compound: that is, "education reform" is a completely different tag from "education". A tag like "reform" alone is probably not meaningful.

Consider if one or more of these tags fits your diary: Civil Rights, Community, Congress, Culture, Economy, Education, Elections, Energy, Environment, Health Care, International, Labor, Law, Media, Meta, National Security, Science, Transportation, or White House. If your diary is specific to a state, consider adding the state (California, Texas, etc). Keep in mind, though, that there are many wonderful and important diaries that don't fit in any of these tags. Don't worry if yours doesn't.
