It is very interesting seeing how the Democrats the people we sent to Washington to protect the interests of the common man/woman quite often vote against us. Point in fact was an amendment introduced by Sheldon Whitehouse to the Financial reform bill in the Senate that would have restored to the States the right to protect consumers from usurious (loanshark like) lenders.
To me this is a very important issue, we currently have banks being able o borrow money at close to 0% while they are charging many of their credit card customers as much as 30% on their balances. This amendment went down by a vote of 35-60 see below the list of Dems that voted against or did not vote.
If anyone can explain why this amendment should have been killed by the Dems please explain in comments. I cannot for the life of me understand why?
I have included the link to Senate Roll Call votes so you can see how your Senators routinely vote, please bookmark it.
